The Canon EOS 500N is also known as the EOS Rebel G in the Americas or the New EOS Kiss in Japan. This camera was released in 1996 and replaced the EOS 500.
Changes compared to the EOS 500 involved:
compatibility with ETTL type flash
up to 1/2000 of a sec sync speed when equipped with a Canon Speedlight like 380EX, 220EX.
AF assist light to improve focus
Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) can be use from -2 to +2 in 1/2 stop increments
Easier access to night scene mode through command dial
Able to use the BP-8 vertical grip
Takes two CR123A batteries
This particular sample is in 7.5/10 cosmetic condition. While it might look like the front hand grip is a bit aged, but it has no stickiness to it and it is a pleasure to hold the camera thanks to its small size and light weight. Some normal wear and scratches can be seen over the body, but nothing too serious.
All functions and features are tested; shutter speed fires accurately at high and low speed; flash fires as it should.
